Where would I put short story publications on my app?

<p>I've had some short stories published in books and magazines, and was wondering whether I should list them under "Honors" or somewhere else. I've been told it should be Honors but I just wanted more opinions to be sure. Thanks :)</p>

<p>As long as you list them, the admissions officer will see them. It is ambiguous where some things should go on the Common App, so they don’t really penalize if you don’t put it exactly where someone else would.</p>

<p>Options I can think of:

  • Honors
  • Create an EC for it and list them if you have room.
  • Additional information section. Say something like:</p>

<p>Publications:

  • Short Story “XXX” published in XXX July 2011
  • Poem “YYY”…</p>

<p>You get the idea.</p>
