Where Would You Go (UMiami, USC, UCLA, or UCSB)

UCLA

Miami

USC

UCLA

UMiami

UCSB

Just wondering, but why is Miami last on all your guys’s lists? Is there something bad about it?

UCLA

I have no desire to hobnob with a bunch of Tories telling me that I (the poor) don’t pay my fair share.

this thread is 2+ years old, folks.

Miami is last because Florida is “flat, hot, and dumb” as Daniel Tosh would say.

I know but I wanted to get my 2 cents in. And most importantly, there were questions left unanswered! Don’t you think we CC browsers are honor-bound to be helpful?

I think it’s a natural occurrence that universities of relatively same size in the same geographical regions tend to take on some of the same characteristics over time, regardless of public or private, updated to 2011. For the CA campuses, UCLA, USC, UCSB, the differences in academic standards between them is lessening, as well as the diversity indices for them seem to be converging, along with wealth factors, because USC, though private and very costly, has great financial aid.

Among the mega campuses of CA, I think these three have the most attractive student bodies. UCLA and USC are really diverse, UCSB is extremely diverse wrt Hispanic enrollment, moreso than UCLA and USC, but don’t have the amounts of Asians that UCLA and USC have, the former wrt CA natives, the latter wrt Int’l types.

USC and SB fans/students/alumni can prop their student bodies attractiveness by linking whatever youtube videos or whatever other means, but here are a couple for UCLA: [Video1](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube) is a video by a graduate which shows a lot of hot people in L&S graduation – also good because it’s hi-def and can be put on full-screen mode without loss of def, and [Video2](<a href=“UCLA College of Letters & Science Commencement 2011 - YouTube”>UCLA College of Letters & Science Commencement 2011 - YouTube) is the U’s L&S graduation ceremonies, which shows a lot of hot people of all races (from about 4:00-30:00).

With regard to the professions, UCLA undergrad is probably the most grad-school geared in M, L, B, and USC is probably the most undergrad trade oriented, and SB somewhere in between, but even these differences are probably lessening.

These CA u’s are all pretty much the same. For someone who’s smart, it wouldn’t matter where he/she went between these three. Graduate school, of course, is another matter entirely.

I am from Miami and I am doing my graduate studies at USC. My ex-girlfriend went to Miami and did not like it for what it’s worth.

I cannot speak on the school itself (Miami) since I did not attend that institution, but I can speak on the culture, atmosphere, etc.

The Miami campus is in a nicer neighborhood than USC. However, the people and lifestyle is MUCH better in Los Angeles. Tradition, Greek Life, and Education are much better at USC. Miami is not a school were you will receive the “college experience.” There are very few Miami natives that attend the school, so it is very hard to get an idea of the culture of Miami. USC and UCLA are filled with native Angeleno’s and can better show you around. The people in Miami are very rude and not nice like the people in Los Angeles.

UCLA is top notch as well.

My Ranking -
