I’m currently choosing between UC Santa Barbara, Boston College, UC Davis, and the University of Southern California. I live about an hour away from Davis and I got no scholarship money anywhere (I’m middle-class).

wow that's hella funny...i was choosing between the exact same schools, also with no money anywhere...i chose bc because i wanted to see life outside california, but if you're looking to stay in-state, go with uc-davis or usc. btw where do you live in cali?

i live in roseville...oh and to give some more info, i'm going to be majoring in the biological sciences. another thing is that i want to have some social life and not be around boring people. i'm not looking for an all-out party school, but i need a nice amount of laid-back, interesting people around me.

lol no way my best friends are in roseville right now at a huge swim meet... and its funny because i'm looking for the same thing in a college...anyway you're probably best off with davis. both ucsb and usc require a lot of partying in order to have fun, but davis and bc are more laid-back and accepting of those who dont drink themselves silly. davis edges out bc when it comes to biology, they have like 20 different majors just in the biological sciences; plus, you'd save a helluva lot of money going to davis.
