Where would you go?

I thought this forum might be a good place to ask, since I won't be attending my first choice (Nova) what other schools would offer that same type of environment? I will apply for next Spring semester, business major. I have 42 units with a 3.5 gpa . Thanks for any help you can give.

Indiana, BC, Wake Forest, Lehigh, URichmond, St. Joe's, Fordham

Thanks loslobos, I appreciate any info, I am only familiar with CA schools.

Did you visit Nova before applying?

No, I was waiting to see if I got in. My best friend's Dad went to Nova and I talked to him a lot about it. My Dad was born in Bryn Mawr and my Grandma grew up there so they gave me input too.

oh ok. I live like 10 mins. from Nova. It's a sick school, but I've heard a lot of bad things about the bschool. Also, it's called Vanillanova for a reason :P
I love it, but I wouldnt go there. My school never sends anyone there. The only person who's going from my class, his mom's the president. He was also severely underqualified.

Anyway, I dont think this is the worst thing to happen. What are your plans as of now?

What bad things have you heard about the b-school?

I went to Catholic High School and loved it so I thought Nova might be a match. Also I am looking for a good business school, good school spirit and alumni and finally a change of pace from southern Cal. Since I just got rejected yesterday (I really thought I had a good chance at getting in) I am still waiting decisions from Univ of Southern Cal, Emory and SMU. I am expecting to get rejections from all now so am planning my reapplication strategy for next semester

Orangeco, look at Loyola in Maryland.

Thanks Yoda I hadn't heard about Loyola in Maryland. I will research

Check it out on Studentsreview.com. Many who apply to Villanova & BC from the Northeast also apply to Loyola.

Thanks Yoda I also didn't know about students review. What school do you attend?

Also check out Fairfield University in CT. It has a decent undergraduate business school, beautiful campus and right on Long Isalnd Sound. NYC is very accessible by train and alot of kids get great internship opportunites with Stamford and NYC so close.

I'll check it out flyboy thanks

Just got back from graduation (which was at Nova). That gym is a dump :P
School is nice (i've been there a few times), but it's nothing special.

I'm a mom. Don't know if you're aware, Villanova over-enrolled freshman last year. I suspect you weren't admitted because they're out of sophomore dorm space.

Another good student review website is thevault.com. The reviews seem more objective than those on studentsreview.

lolobos and yoda you make me feel better! I would have lived off campus if that is all the problem was. Thanks for info on thevault I didn't know that site either. Now I just hope I either get into one of my 2 remaining schools or I will reapply for the spring...somewhere?!?

Good info here. In keeping with the Catholic college theme, do any of you have opinions on Saint Anselm ( fresh from the debates) or Providence College? We visited Fairfield U but my D just did not get a good feel from it. She is also interested in Catholic U in DC and Fordham.

Sorry kmaqmom, I only know about Loyola in MD & St. Michaels in VT. Both are much loved by students I know. St. Michaels is cold though.

Orangeco, best of luck. Please keep me posted.

Thanks anyway, yoda. My sister lives near St. Michael's and says she has heard nothing but good things about it.
