I am currently a sophmore at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. I am a Statistics major with ~3.3, and I am very involved on campus and have had many leadership roles. Despite this, I feel as I would really like to study Business - more specific - MIS, Management, or Finance. Another reason for considering the transfer is that I would really like to go out of state.

With this being said where do you think I should go, of the following, or if you have another idea:

University of Colorado - Boulder
University of Washington
Vanderbilt
Dayton

If you have any other options that would be suitable to my profile I would appreciate it.

i don’t think your gpa is competitive enough for vandy or uwash, but possibly for the other 2 (i’m not familiar with them, sorry). maybe northeastern? honestly, uiuc is a great school

Thanks for the feedback. Do you feel I would be competitive for Northeastern? Do you have any knowledge of what the middle 50% Transfer GPA may be for Vandy or UWash? Would I be at a disadvantage if I am not transferring from one Business School to another? I have an excellent high school resume, but since I have taken >30 college hours do they even look at that? Thanks for all your help.

i had a 3.3 gpa when i transferred to northeastern but they are getting more competitive each year and they do have a holistic approach. You still have a decent shot.

Vandy and UWash are a little reach for you

Do you mind me asking what you studied at Northeastern? Did you transfer from another University or CC? Can you elaborate on why you decided on Northeastern?

What is a competitive GPA for Vandy and UWash? 3.5 or even higher?

^ higher, i’d say. though vandy’s acceptance rate is also high. i’d say with a 3.5 it’s worth a shot, but by no means great chances.

I was originally a bio major at another university in Boston but i transferred in as an economics major. I decided Northeastern awhile ago but was not able to get in when i was in high school. I had considered other schools around Boston and in California but northeastern gave me the best financial package.
