Where would you place me?

So I've really blown off school, but now I'm looking at colleges and I'm curious as to where I would land. I have moderately high test scores, but my gpa/class rank isn't that great..

Hispanic Male
Gpa (weighted): 99.8
Class rank: 27~ [top 5%]
Sat: 2320
Act: 34
Extra curricular: Theatre for 3 years and National Honor Society.

I've taken all AP classes [got a lot of 4's and 5's] and am graduating "distinguished" [certain credits and an extra year of language]

Could I make the cut for any high-tier schools?

Hear my cry, noble members of college confidential!

Your extracurricular activities seem to be extremely lacking. However, if you write some amazing essays you should have a shot at top schools.

What could I do [or could have done] to make my extra curricular seem better?
I’m in Stuco too, but not very actively. However, there’s still plenty of time to get my green chord [100 hours of community service]. Would that be helpful?

99.8 GPA= “really blown off school?” I don’t think so, m’dear sir. You pretty much don’t have extracurriculars though, unless your theater program rivals most Broadway productions or something to that extent. I’m really not sure where you’d get in considering there are kids with the same (or at least just a touch lower) GPA than you but actual extra curriculars. You could probably get in to upper middle-tier schools where GPAs are around a 3.7 but the kids actually, you know, did stuff.

By “blown off” I mean I could have done a LOT better, like been first in my class. I have [literally] hundreds of missing pieces of homework, but my grades were pulled up by really high test scores. I don’t remember ever doing anything outside of school that wasn’t an essay…

Wait, a part-time job would count as an EC? I have that as well.

Is there anything else useful that I could add to my list?

did you tutor anyone? like, say, any disadvantaged students, or generally just students that needed help? At my school, tutoring is a huge deal, and we even have this tutoring program thing, and it’s basically a club that tutors people who sincerely need help.

:)

Thanks for the help:)
Unfortunately, at my school there is no such program. However, I now plan on entering and competing in the science UIL competition and hopefully advancing to a decent level.

I’m going to try to build up my EC some more.
