where would you rather go

1.uchicago
2.cornell

seems like ill be having to make a decision like this in like a day so please just say one or the other...i dont want your reasons just say 1 or 2

1

10char and1

University of Chicago.

Cornell

Chicago .

Chicago 3
Cornell 2

Chicago! For sure.

Chicago 4
Cornell 2

I think you guys got confused because of the 2 I typed before Cornell (I was saying choice #2 - stupid 10 character rule). Right now, it's actually:

Chicago 4
Cornell 1

arite...the reason i asked was, i got into chicago ea a few days ago and i also applied to cornell ed. im starting to fall more in love with chicago every day so im wondering whether i should withdraw cornell or maybe switch it to rd if possible, or whether i should just leave it and take the good chance that i may get in. alot of you guys chose chicago, say why

I don't think you should make your decision based on a poll in an online message board. Chicago and Cornell are two very different school. Chicago is in major city and has a fairly small student body (less than 5,000 undergrads). Cornell, on the other hand, is in a very rural area and has a large student body (over 13,000 undergrads). Both of these schools are similar academically and have similar prestige, so it should come down to what you want out of a school (big or small? rural or urban? does ivy league matter to you?).

And also what you want to study. Chicago does not have engineering and hotel. Cornell on the other hand has Hotel and Engineering.

lol..im sorry to sound rude but i did not want you guys to tell me about both colleges. i wanted you to tell me why you would choose either...i know they both have similar prestige and i know about both very extensively...i just want to know what other people would tend to pick in my spot.

You certainly did not express yourself very clearly in your first post.

Chicago = much better enviorment, and much better overall experience than Cornell offers in my opinion.

Cornell char

chicago...
screw the ivy league... and even if you have ivy dreams, cornell is just a second rate ivy (<-- general concensus... I might be misinformed though, but biased for sure)
AND
Chicago population 2,833,321
Ithaca popuation 29,287
AND
chicago intellecutualism > cornell's... wait... what's special about cornell?
This is just my rationale of chicago>cornell

you applied ED which is binding so it's going to be tough. Good luck!

i could still withdraw so im not sure

Chicago >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Cornell

If you're not sure, I'd say move your Cornell application to RD. Assuming you have the stats (which, since you got into Chicago, you appear to have), you'll probably still get in RD. And that gives you more time to visit them, etc and decide.

It's like comparing apples and oranges: U of C has the quirky, intellectual student in Hyde Park Chicago; Cornell has the studious, more mainstream student on average in hard to get to Ithaca. Since they're so different, one or the other should fit your fancy. Since they're both great schools. go to the one where you're happiest and feel more at home.
