There are two basic types of medical schools: public (state supported) medical schools and private medical schools.

Private medical school demonstrate little preference for where an applicants is from (home state of legal residence).

Public medical schools favor (often heavily to the point of not considering OOS applicants) residents of their own state. This is because the state gives a substantial amount of money to run the school (which comes from the taxes paid by state residents) and because many have specific missions to train physicians who will practice in the state. (People who grew up in a certain state are more likely to stay and practice medicine there.)

If you’re a resident of Washington, then UDub will consider you for admission to its medical school. If you aren’t from Washington, but attended UDub for undergrad, it’s extremely unlikely that will be considered for admission to UDub’s med school. UWashington simply doesn’t accept OOS applicants for med school unless you’re from a WWAMI state (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana or Idaho) or are applying to its MD/PhD program.

tl;dr It depends. Private med school don’t care where you’re from or where you went to college. Public med schools heavily favor in-state applicants for admission. Attending a particular college for undergrad will not give you an inside track on getting in the med school associated with that undergrad.
