I live in San Diego, so DC is pretty far away from me. I used to live on the east coast though, so I know I'll be able to deal with the comparative lack of sunshine.
For people that are coming from far away- do you plan on meeting up with friends that are somewhat close to DC? I'm going to have friends in Philly, New York and Boston, so I think we're going to meet up in NY occasionally.

Dallas, Texas
I'm going there all alone!

maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like your username is no longer appropriate.

Hehehe.. Coming in from Los Angeles, CA. None of my school's students are going out of state, except for my friend who's going to Bowdoin.. DC to Maine, that's a horrid trip.

no one is leaving the state? About 40% go out of state from my school. I know it isn't really going to be an issue though since you meet so many people in college.

well I'll be crossing the Antlantic!! no friends around either... Only in NY and Boston.. So how far from DC are these two cities? (car?! PLane?!)

LA to DC? 2,869 miles. 4 hours by plane. :)

I don't know about Boston or NY.. my guess would be 500-700 miles..

DC to Boston is about 400 miles. Boston is about 8-9 hours by car (or more, depending on traffic), NY is about 5 hours.

NY. I'm happy it's not too much of a move

Houston, TX

I'm one of the hordes of people going to gtown who are from Jersey. Although, I gotta say, I'm from the REAL Jersey, i.e. Tony-Soprano-suburb-of-NYC North Jersey, not bumbling-redneck-let's-go-to-Wawa South Jersey.

Central Jersey here...and yes we like to frequent Wawa at 2 AM

it's about 3 hours to New York actually by train, which I think is the best way to get there. Boston is pretty damn far which is why I if I decide to see my friends there we'll meet half way.
Is there any reason that there are so many people from Jersey at Gtown? It seems a bit random.

daria1000, my name is actually Yale. But don't worry, I love Georgetown.

I'm from the Bay Area (really close to Oakland), in California.

i'm from Los Angeles

im another one of those new jersey people =)

massachusetts. lotta kids goin out of state, but none of my friends will be in DC, MD, VA

more jersey love right here. gtown09, where in central nj do you live?

p.s. wawa definitely kicks ass, especially at 2 am.

Daria, what school do you go to?

I'm from Encinitas...so depending where in San Diego you are, I'm probably pretty close. But I didn't go to the accepted students thing, did you?

Hardly anyone at my school goes out-of-state. I'd say maybe 15, 20%?
