Where's my intellectual party school?

@collegehelp, you really believe there is an inverse relationship between partying and schools that have intellectual students? It’s certainly not the case that elite schools that require extremely smart students who have achieved very high levels of academic success are not also party schools. It’s not easy to get into Dartmouth and unless you are a recruited athlete or major legacy you have to be pretty smart. But it’s also a major party school. As but one of many examples. So, sure, if you subjectively (and judgmentally) define the act of partying as inherently demonstrating a lack of intellect, then then it is an oxymoron. But most people don’t narrowly define it that way. Don’t get me wrong. I wasn’t a partier. My college student son isn’t either. But that doesn’t mean I look down on or judge those who do or make the mistake of concluding they can’t be intellectual.

Michigan is very intellectual and also party oriented

Re #14, the OP referred to parties, not substances. Though party as verb, also used, would for the most part be associated substances by many.
