Unfortunately my financial aid was pitiful, and college is extremely expensive....I don't want to be in serious debt later, so does anyone have any tips for me on winning scholarships, or where the best places to find scholarships are?
thank you

Getting scholarships is very, very difficult because often thousands of people are applying for just one or two awards.

I was able to win a scholarship last year, but only through luck- the guy I interviewed just happened to really like me.

I would recommend applying to many, many scholarships. Like 10-15 or even more. This may sound daunting, but for many of the essays required you can often just use college essays with a few modifications. If you do that, you have at least a decent chance of winning something.

There are also a lot of testing companies that have scholarship promotions where you just apply, and (regardless of merit) you get a scholarship if your name is randomly drawn.

Go to fastweb.com. Google for scholarships. I think I remember scholarshipexperts.com being pretty useful also.

Good luck.
