I suppose he's a US Citizen or a Greencard holder of some sort?

US citizen living abroad.

anyone get their decision yet?
heard one guy from a school near mine already got accepted, and we live like... 300 miles from pasadena.
hope it's not because rejection letters are taking longer to get here...

They must have sent out letters. Quick everyone! Battle stations!

So the consensus is that the decisions have been mailed? Can we get anyone to confirm?

I'm an hour and fifteen minutes drive from Caltech (about 55 miles), so if I get a letter from them, I'll tell you.

Thanks. Hopefully I'll be able to, if I get this by wed, not apply to any more schools...

Nope nothing from caltech yet, although I did get deferred from MIT...

I got my Caltech and MIT letters today. Both deferrals.

I live in WI, btw

Yea, I got deferred from MIT as well. If you got the letter from Caltech in WI, I guess I should get it tomorrow (East Coast).

I got deferred from MIT as well. It seems that a lot of people are getting deferred - whereas most people from my school that applied last year early got in early, this year I've heard of 3 deferrals so far (including mine) and only 1 acceptance.

Then again, this is their smallest early acceptance for the last 3 years at least.

hrm. i live in northern california and i still haven't gotten my caltech letter yet... bites nails

I figured I did a better job on my MIT app than the Caltech (viz. the fill-in-the-box question), so I'm anticipating another deferral. At least rejections make simpler the job of choosing where to go.

Argh!!!! Nothing here in Colorado yet. The second I get anything I'll tell you guys; best of luck to you all. By the way if anyone else who applied to Tech wants to message me on AIM so we can kill time together feel free to hit me up at Born2Run16517

sherwin, that sucks. I really thought you'd get in... Hope your luck's better in March. :)

sherwin, you got your MIT letter?
I also lived in S. CA, but I didn't receive it...
And I called Caltech they say they will mail the letters this week, so,anijen21, how can you have already received the letter?
Please let me know. Thx!

Thanks devious, I think I aced my DE final though, so I'm actually in a good mood believe it or not... now I'm wondering how everyone got their Caltech things way eastward, and I'm only an hour's drive away and I haven't. Heh, we'll see... my friend also got deferred from both, another "token 1600" I think he got 800/790/780 on his Sat IIs and most other stuff was good too.

weee Caltech deferred -___- tho I'm not that surprised my scores are actually not that great... :P

Does anyone know how many were accepted, deferred or rejected?

dboom, where do you live? [as in, how far away from caltech... not for stalking purposes, haha]

NorCal... basically southern end of the Bay Area
