Wheres the parties at

Im trying to find the hot clubs/bars around some of the top 20 party colleges. so if you could tell me what college you go to and what bars or clubs people often go to you would be helping me out a grip. thanks.

Check out past issues of Playboy that rate the hottest party campuses. They always list the most popular bars in clubs around certain universities. You might find that the biggest and most hopping isn't necessarily the best. Waiting 10 minutes to get a $5 beer while not being able to move, along with a 15 line for the bathroom isn't my idea of a good time. I prefer sports bars.

in Madison, which is in the top 10, the bars are numerous in the downtown area. on state street, check out state street brats (Si on campus' #2 sports bar), the state, mondays, the city, angelic brewery, and off state street try the vintage, MadHatters, Red Shed, Wandos, cuenique, and Amy's. these are the ones that i've been to, although it's just scratching the surface of party opportunities in mad-town. if you want ridiculous partying, check out halloween weekend here on state street, or mifflin block party on mifflin street the first saturday in may.

i forgot to mention some good clubs: try the annex, club majestic, the orpheum, MadAvenue, and Jonny-O's. everything in this area is within walking distance, much centered on state street or University Ave.

also, stillwaters and crave at gorham and stae are good for more low key atmospheres, and plaza is pretty fun too

If you want to get drunk because you have nothing better to do, go to a big university in the middle of nowhere (i.e notre dame, UI, chico state) if you want to drink because you're in to having a good time, any college in a major city will have that to offer you (for example, Un. of San Francisco and SFSU students have the world at their fingertips "when the lights go down in the city" as Journey so eloquently put it.
Not that id really know, im just a senior in hs.. but at my hs in San Francisco, its been my experience that people who hid in some park so tehy could be alone with their beer and friends all went to places like Chico, Fresno, and St. mary's college where there is really nothing to do except get drunk.. and the people who went out on the town to get drunk in high school like to go to urban colleges or to LACs where there is at least a cool cafe or music spot to party at... oh, and the people who didnt drink, we have some of them too. Oddly enough, I think close to 100% of them are now engineering majors at UC Irvine.
