Whether or not to be open about sexual identity in college application

<p>A very interesting article in the New York Times of Dec. 3</p>

<p>Kind of frustrating in its refusal to take a stand, though I understand why it refuses. </p>

<p>As with so many aspects of college admissions, one can talk about generalities, populations and percentages, but nobody can really answer a teenager who asks you, “What will this do for my chance of admission to this college?”</p>

<p>I think a better question might be “Would you want to attend an institution that was not welcoming of who you are?”</p>

<p>Agree 100%.</p>

<p>Indeed, I have posed that very question to kids on CC.</p>
