Most of the school’s I’m applying to seem to emphasize only submitting an arts portfolio if there is an especially unusual amount of talent, and I don’t know if I fall in that category. They seem to be looking for classically trained students that specialize in one instrument. I play seven instruments and pride myself mostly on my audio production skills. I wrote, recorded, mixed, mastered, and independently released an album (it’s called Cool. - Simon Couch and is on iTunes) and I think that would be the focus of my application. (I also arrange choral music, and have a background in classical guitar and voice. Would either of those be more advantageous?) I’m also not planning to major in any arts, if that helps.
Should I submit a portfolio? What should be in it?
Thanks!
