Which 3 unit engineering course is less rigorous? I'm not trying to say that I don't want to work hard, but just that I don't want to take one of the engineering course that ends up taking hours to do each homework!!

Avoid engineering 45, I heard.

Depends on the professors. When I took E45 we had very little homework but the course outline was so random that come exam time, the grades were all over the place, and more based on how much you knew from previous courses and a bit of luck. I personally found E77 to be really easy. There's a bit of homework, but it's very doable.

doable, but how is the competition in engineering 77?

Well, it's a required course for every non-EECS engineering major, so there are a lot of people trying to do well. When I took the course, it wasn't graded on a curve(or at most a very slight curve) so competition wasn't really an issue.

bioE students can take either e77 or cs61a.... :)

Is E45 a weeder?

I don't think so. E36 can be a weeder under certain professors.

how about engineering 28 and civ eng 155?

E28 is really not that bad. It's just a lot of work learning a bunch of different program functions, doing the drawings, and memorizing ASE conventions. Very little math or science involved. Never took CE155, so I'm not really sure what that is.

A lot of work as in how many hours did you spend doing homework and studying? I'm trying to plan out my courses for the next two semesters and trying not to overwhelm myself with too many ultra heavy workload engineering courses...
