Hello, My parent has a tuition exchange program with different colleges. Some of the colleges i m interested are here:

pepperdine university
USC
Connecticut college
U of delaware
U of Florida
U of Richmond
Rose-Hulman insititute
WPI
Saint louis U
Fordham Uni
Syracuse uni
Bucknell
U of Pittsburgh

However i can only apply to 4 colleges from the list. My intended major is biochem or Chem E, So which colleges are good fit for me? Any comments are welcomed.

College i ll definitely going to apply is U of Florida. So besides that what other 3 colleges should i consider? My main interest is in research, so any college that encourge/support undergrudate to do research is most preferable. thanks

I would think that Bucknell and Connecticut College are both regarded equally academically, but that Bucknell would have more of a science bent to it.

I got a chemE degree and from what I gather, USC's chemE isn't that great. Delaware has always been strong in chemE. But if you aren't sure about your major, USC is probably then the best choice if money isn't an issue.

Sam, what do you expect? Dupont is literally located in the backyard of UDEL. LOL. On a more serious note, UDEL has an excellent program for ChemE & ME Manufacturing. I went there new manufacturing & engineering building, and came out very impressed!!!

If you prefer an LAC-type environment I recall that, "back in the day", Bucknell actually looked pretty strong for Chemistry and Chem E. They were somewhat unique back then in that students took organic chemistry first year. Don't know if this is still the case. Or even if it's a good thing or not.

Thanks for all the responces. My mom and teacher kind of "force" me to apply pitt. Since the teacher is an alumni of pitt and my mom think i ll have a better chance to get the scholarship at Upitt. So i only have 3 spots left to choose!!! And i have shortened my list a little, so here is my new list:

USC
Connecticut college
U of delaware
U of Florida
U of Richmond
Rose-Hulman insititute
WPI
Bucknell

Good News!!!! After discussing with my mom's college fin aid offices, I can apply to 6 colleges from the list now. So i decided on Upitt, WPI and bucknell. From Rose's website, they said they are very good for engineer, but their biochem program is only offerd as an speical program. So i m not sure if the biochem program is as good as their engineer program. I have posted this question on Rose's forum. But haven't get any responces for 2 weeks....

Decided list:
WPI
Bucknell
Upitt

Possible list:
Rose-hulman
U of delaware
Connecticut college
USC
U of Florida

I crossed out richmond because they don't really have a chemical engineer major and i need it as a back up plan.
