which ACT COURSE IS RECCOMENNNNNNDEDDDDD

yeah i need ur help CC. my mom wants me to decide by tonight which course for the ACT i am going to take over the summer for the September ACT. i really wanna do some hardcore prep. any suggestions?

Just buy a bunch of practice tests and do those. That’s honestly all you’re going to get out of any fancy, overpriced “course”. This coming from someone who brought a 29 up to a 33 to a 36 just by taking practice tests.

Do you need help with content or format? Format-wise, I recommend Red Book practice tests over everything. I’ve used Kaplan CDs and PR books. With Red Book, you know that the difficulty level is what you’ll be getting on the actual test. This way, you can’t subconsciously deceive yourself. Here’s what I did:

Found a vacant bedroom in the house. Dragged an old (functional) desk in there, and hung an analog clock on the wall. Eliminated distractions (shut the door). Basically, set up a room that emulates the testing center. Put myself under the exact same time constraints. Even talked to myself in that “You may begin now” monotone… :)

You should go back and scrutinize the mistakes you’ve made under pressure. Learn and re-learn the source of that seemingly insignificant little trip-up until you’re sick. Then, move on.

sigh i know what u guys mean but my mom thinks i am mad un-motivated to prepare for tests. i am already ordering various books from amazon.

My school offered an ACT class, and it was little help. Honestly, urge your mother to not pay for the course. If she thinks you’re not motivated, have her beat you or something. Prep books will give you everything a course will. Do what the others are suggesting, and practice! It helps.

Tell her to spend the money on herself instead of you, that might work.
but if she refuses to budge, go with Ivy Insiders. Mostly because that is the only one I know of.

ight i found a really nice course: [L.I. PREP - Curriculum/Schedule](http://www.liprep.com/Curriculum-Schedule.html)
my friend rec’s it and i can trust his word. he went from an 1800 on the SAT to a 2100 via this course. ima see how their ACT course for this summer. hopefully i can pull a 36 xDD

what 2 act books do u guys suggest i get for the summer?

I got a 36 from first taking a revolution prep practice test (I got a 33 on that) then using the Princeton Review “How to Ace the ACT” and doing practice sections online on various websites.

I accidentally bought cracking the ACT by princeton review. Is there a huge difference between the 2 book?

No clue, but I doubt it. In any case, most of the practice that I did was outside of the book so it’s pretty much a non-issue.
