Which ACT results are better?

So I’ve taken the ACT twice, in June and September, and I got a 28 each time for my composite score. However, my score breakdown was very different for the two tests.

June ACT: 28
English: 33
Math: 27
Reading: 29
Science: 24

September ACT: 28
English: 35
Math: 25
Reading: 24
Science: 27

Even though they both resulted in a 28 composite score, is one considered better than the other? I’m taking the ACT one more time in October to try for a 29 or 30, but I don’t think it’s looking too good. Thanks!

Intended major?

Well, if you superscore you have a 30, so you could look for schools that superscore and send both.

In situations such as yours, it is usually best to just send both because colleges either superscore as noted above or use the test they believe is better for you. Also, there are many that consider the English and math scores the more important of the section scores and in your case that would also lean toward sending both.
