Which ACT score is better?

<p>I have taken the ACT twice now and unfortunately I got a composite of 31.25 both times, and that made it even worse as it is the only decimal that rounds down.
1st time
32 E
33 M
27 R
33 S
10 essay, 31 combined E/Writing</p>

34 M

26 S
Haven't gotten the essay back yet</p>

<p>It just kills me that I ruined both tests becuse of one section, and almost no colleges superscore. I'm wondering though which score is "better" to send to colleges. Thanks in advance</p>

<p>More colleges super score than you might think. Sure, it’s not as common as SAT super scoring, but it certainly is growing. I’d check to see if your colleges super score, because that’d get you a composite of a 33, which is 99th percentile :)</p>

<p>Although not as many schools superscore ACT as SAT, it is definitely not “almost no colleges”. You should check out the list to see if your target schools are on it. The real difference between the 2 is between Science and Reading. So it will depends on your intended major to see which one is better. Did you take any subject test or SAT1? That may help to compensate the low scores in one section or the other depending on the schools applying too.</p>

<p>If you get a 10 on the essay for the second act, you should pick that one because it has higher math and English scores.</p>

<p>Yes that is correct. And many top notch schools superscore ACT. Schools such as UPenn, Cornell, JHU, UNC, etc they all superscore ACT. :D</p>

<p>Thanks for the feedback! I applying to multiple schools like UNC, Virginia Tech, Stanford, U Miami, and Santa Clara that do superscore ACTs, so I’m very excited now that my second score wasn’t all for nothing</p>

<p>UNC doesn’t superscore it as far as I know…In fact, most schools don’t.</p>

<p>@RayeDrum does the “ACT and SAT composite” for a school mean that they do superscore both the SAT and ACT sections for a new composite or what? And what is the difference between “ACT and SAT composite” and “ACT and SAT?”</p>

<p>Yes that means they superscore both the SAT and ACT and make a final “superscored” ACT/SAT composite. and Adscram a lot of schools do superscore just look at the link rayedrum put up.</p>

<p>Please note that the table from prepmatters,com is not accurate. It has been confirmed several times that Northwestern would not superscore ACT while it is shown as “SAT and ACT composite” for superscoring on the list. I think the following list is more reliable:
