Alright, so I took two ACT tests this year- one in June, and one in September.

On the June one, I got a 33 Composite: 35 E, 32 M, 36 R 28 S, with Combined E/W of 33 (10 on Essay)

On the September one, I got a 35 Composite: 34 E, 34 M, 35 R, 36 S, with Combined E/W of 31 (8 on Essay)

I was happy with the September one until I saw the E/W score. I'm disappointed that my writing score dropped.
So here lies my dilemma- should I send the score with the higher composite, or the one with the higher combined E/W?

Here's my college list for reference.
Penn State
Rutgers
Washington and lee
UMD
Fordham
uMinnesota
George Mason
And one Ivy for kicks.

Thank you so much in advance. And enjoy Columbus Day (the celebration of a tyrant- but really, even the best of us have at least one hamartia).

Definitely the higher composite. Not only is it 2 full points higher than the other (a pretty significant difference) but your science score alone went up 8 points. Colleges are tending to steer away from the writing score (so long as its not terrible): anything of a 7 or up shows competence and ability to write a short, persuasive essay. So I wouldn’t worry about that. Plus you have essays to show how amazing your writing skills are.

If you have to pick only one, send the Sept score (35 composite). But what do you have to lose by sending both other than the fees? June shows (slightly) higher scores in English and Reading as well as the essay if it does matter to you. Maybe don’t waste the money sending both scores to a safety school but why not send them both to your reach/match schools?
