Hi guys.
So the first ACT I took I got a composite of 29 (June, 2018).
English- 34
Math- 29
Reading- 24
Science- 29
Writing 9 (9 on all sections)
This one that I took in October I got a composite of 30.
English- 26
Math- 32
Reading- 31
Science- 30
Writing 8 (8, 7, 7, 8)
*I did feel the English section was way harder, but I did not expect this low of a score. On the contrary, I did not expect as much as I got from reading either.
Anyways, it feels like the higher composite is the obvious choice (ACT score of 30), but I got a significantly lower essay score on it (I did not like the prompt as much as last time).
So which one do you guys recommend? I’m thinking a biochem / Physical chem major and applying to UC’s, CSU’s, CalPoly, UOP (and some more colleges).
Is UOP the University of the Pacific? It looks like they superscore ACT:
You’d have a 32 superscore so I would check any school you plan to apply that superscores the ACT and send both even though it’ll cost you extra. The 32 ACT will help with merit at UoP and maybe others.
@Dolemite You’re right, I’m glad they superscore. @happy1 Ok will do. Still, which one do you think is better overall? Just out of curiosity, I wanna know.
