Which activities should I put on my Common App?

I’m having trouble deciding which activities I should put on my Common App. I had a lot of activities in High School; I only have three in college because it’s only been one semester (Freshman). I’m also not sure if I should attach a resume or not. For the hours and weeks, I input them as they would be the end of my spring semester; is that what most people do? The school is UNC if that’s important, thanks :slight_smile:

@thetransfercoach

Commonapp so there’s 10 spaces right?

@philbegas yep, 10 spaces

Looking at your list of extracurriculars, I actually don’t think I would list the full 10 spaces, necessarily. I especially wouldn’t do it in chronological order, because reading that list, I don’t feel as if I’ve necessarily gained a sense of who you are as a person/what your strengths are. If you do want do it in chronological order, I would list the college extracurriculars, and then attach a separate sheet of your high school activities… Or, have a resume divided by relevant sections (i.e. CAREER-ORIENTED ACTIVITIES, COMMUNITY SERVICE, ACADEMIC, etc.). If you list several activities that are super-unrelated right next to each other, it makes you look like an involved person, but it doesn’t really help the reader get a sense of your personality/devotion to your activities.
