I was thinking of changing my AP Statistics to AP Biology or changing my AP Literature to AP Lang then changing Stat to Bio but I am not sure
Here's my current schedule,
:
AP Physics C
AP Chemistry
Spanish 3
AP Statistics
AP Calculus BC
AP Literature

I honestly am not sure if I can handle all these classes if I changed Stat to Bio.
Like I heard AP Chem, Bio, Physics C are essential core classes that colleges like to see in the student's application.
So on to the question, Should I change AP Stat to AP Bio? Or Change Lit to Lang (since lang is easier than lit) then change Stat to Bio??

Here is something to think about: why do you take AP classes? Do you take them to look good on an application or do you take them to get some credit once you start college? If you are taking them to look good, then by all means, take all the science APs. However, if you want a little credit, many students, especially those who are going to major in the sciences, do not use their science AP credits. Taking a bit of a variety will probably give you more credit. FWIW

Hello MD Mom, Thank you for the reply. There are a lot of reasons that I choose AP classes over CP and Honors.
First, my school provides variety of AP classes, and teachers who teach AP classes at my school are very nice and also prepares the students for AP exams.
Second, I really don’t like environments in regular classes like CP and Honors.
Third, my intended major is related my AP classes.
Lastly just like you mentioned, I do want to impress colleges by taking rigorous classes and would love to get into prestige colleges :)

What is your major?

Also keep in mind that if you have a science-related major, you will have to retake these classes anyway.

Not necessarily; it depends on the college. (Check each college’s web site for AP credit policies.)

(But pre-meds find that many medical schools do not accept AP credit, so they either have to retake the introductory courses or substitute more advanced courses if they skip with AP credit.)

Swapping AP Lit for AP Lang or AP Bio for AP Stat isn’t going to make any difference to college admissions, if that’s what you are wondering. Take a rigorous schedule in courses that interest you - and not so many that you can’t do well in all of them.

Admissions people have better things to do with their time than wonder why a particular applicant chose AP Lit instead of AP Lang.

Unless you are going into a STEM major, then No.

If you swap out lit for language, all the rest is doable. At least if you’re like my son…
and M’s mom is correct. Just take what you want, not what you think some AdCom is looking for.

Aerobug: I am into many things, but mostly science involved. Like I am interested in Computer engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, and Management Informations Systems. And Yes I am aware despite the AP credits, I still need to take the class.

ucbalumnus: You’re right. However even with the AP credits, I will probably get 3 hours or 4 hours credit off. << For colleges in my mind

M’s Mom: I forgot to mention it, but like I took Lit to improve my writing (my writing is not that good cause I am a foreigner). It takes me like 2 hours to write a essay while it take other students about 30minutes. I really want to improve my writings for college essays and applications. Also, Stat is too known for being easy, and I don’t want colleges to think that.

Blckmgc: Funny lol.

cortana431: Although, I am not 100% sure. I think I might major something related to Stem majors.

nugraddad: You and M’s mom are absolutely right. However, wouldn’t Lit help me prepare for college essays and applications? Like I want to improve my essays pretty bad, since I am not good in writing them.

My recollection (very rusty) is that you do a lot of writing in both AP Lit and AP Lang. I’m not sure it would make a difference which you took strictly from the ‘how do I improve my writing’ perspective. Why not ask your AP Lit and Lang teachers what they think? (They will appreciate that you care about improving your writing and might have a better perspective than we do.)
