Which AP course looks better AP Calc AB or AP Lit

I can’t take both since they are offered just once during the day in the same period…

Eng Lit & Comp AP or AP Calc AB
My school does not offer AP Calc BC

If I don’t take AP Lit then I will be going to a university to take ENG W131 Reading, Writing, and Inquiry I. My GC said this is the only English class I can take in college. My high schools offers Honors English 12 but the college class probably looks better.

If I don’t take AP Calc AB, well I need another math credit so it’s more flexible. I could take a Calculus or Statistics class or whatever math course at the university.

Which AP course looks better colleges?

Strange that they schedule AP English and AP calculus in the same period, since many of the top students will want to take both.

AP calculus + college English, AP English + college calculus, or college English + college calculus would be the most rigorous combination, assuming that the college courses are generally transferable and equivalent to those at other universities.

The college courses will also give you a taste of how college courses differ from high school (including AP) courses in terms of format, even if the material covered is similar.

I agree – strange that they are offered the same day/time. If it is do-able I’d probably opt for the college English class and AP calculus. Second choice would be AP English and college calculus. The advantage of taking calculus in the HS is that: (1) many college students have already taken calculus in HS so you may be at a disadvantage and (2) it may be easier to leave option to re-take calculus open in college if you didn’t already take it in a college.

So when you say I may be at a disadvantage if I don’t take calculus in HS, do you mean at a college admissions disadvantage? So colleges will prefer AP Calc AB over AP Lit?

Calculus is one semester at college as opposed to AP calc being 2 semesters. So if I take calculus at college first semester, second semester I can take the next level of calculus.

Yes it’s do-able to take both the AP Calc AB and college English class.

I also do have the option of taking both the college classes but AP is better right?
