Which AP Physics to self-study?

I’ve been thinking for a few days now. I need to take one more Physics class but I won’t be able to because it won’t fit into my schedule (I’m going to be a senior now). Which AP Physics course would be the best to self-study?

I’m willing to put in the extra effort needed. Thank you

None. If you can’t fit it into your schedule, you don’t need it that badly.

my school doesn’t offer ap physics to students who are pursuing the, what we call, ‘medicine diploma’ (it’s practically just biology centered). the medical college i want to join after high school requires physics in their entrance exam and requirements. i just need to take one of them at least to have a proper foundation.

I can’t imagine any college accepting a self study as meeting its requirements. Regardless, you’ll not get a proper foundation from self study. If this college, or those similar, are that important, I’d suggest dropping some class to make physics fit in.

thank you for replying  i found out that i can take the AP Physics 2 course if i drop another class. it’ll be much better if i take both ap physics 1 and 2 exams right? i can’t take AP Physics 1 because it clashes with my AP Biology so…

AP Physics 1 and Physics 2 are two very different exams. If your AP Physics 2 class isn’t designed for you to take both exams, then don’t. I would just stick with the AP Physics 2 exam. Besides, the class should give a foundation of several Physics topics regardless of the exam as intended.

Physics 1 entails generally easy concepts but Physics 2 is harder and assumes you mastered all the knowledge from Physics 1.

I took both exams and studied for both in school, although I took them in seperate years.

If you are going to study on your own take the Physics 1 exam which deals with more basic physics concept. I don’t know what the guy above me is basing his suggestion on but from my perspective it is very hard to get a good score on Physics 2 on your own without Physics 1.

Ah if Physics 1 clashes with Bio you can request a late exam for one of the exams. You can take one exam later. Consult your school administrator for that.

I believe that the OP was saying that the classes conflict, not that the exams conflict (which they do not for 2017)

I’ve enrolled in AP Physics 2. I know, scary. Thanks for all your replies! My teacher will help me study for AP Physics 1 at the same time. Plus, I’m taking the courses to prepare myself mostly for the entrance exam, and then the AP exam. Thanks again
