Hi! I am taking APUS and AP Psychology this year. Last year, I "passed" AP World History with a 3, but I was extremely unhappy since some colleges don't like them. This year, I plan to start studying early...and I want to get review books to read along with my textbooks.

So, which books should I get? Last year, I had the Princeton Review book for AP World. But do any other you guys have any suggestions for which books I should get for AP Psych and APUSH?

I am also planning to buy the 2008 edition of both...I think that's okay right?

I’m not sure about USH but for Ap Psychology I hear that Barron’s is very comprehensive. Pairing the Barrons book with the flashcards is a good way to study as well when you’re on the go! I also heard that Princeston review and REA Crash Course is good for Ap Psychology. It depends on how you want to study. Barrons is long and detailed, but from what I hear the information is golden. Princeton review has the information more spaced out. From what I hear, REA Crash Course has this really good list at the back for all of the scientists… I think. I have to check back on the review.

The 2008 versions should be fine for both, because the format hasn’t changed, other than the no penalty scoring change. Good luck! I’m taking Ap Psychology as well!

Unfortunately, the site I wanted to buy the used books off didn’t have direct hits for APUSH. But I decided on the 2008 Barron’s for AP Psych and 2006/2007/8th Edition REA APUSH book. I’m worried about the 2006 book–is it too old?

No 2006 isn’t too old. I’m not sure about USH because I’m taking the course this year. However, I took Psychology my sophomore year. I can say that you really don’t need a review book. The exam is just so darn easy. I didn’t review at ALL and I ended up getting a 5.

Save the money and skip the review book for AP Psych. Good luck!
