I am going to take AP Chem my senior year. I am going to major in a science so none of the following would really help me out, but they are interesting topics to learn about for everday life in my opinion. I want to take the easier and more interesting class. Should I take AP Government or AP Economics. If I take AP Econ I will take regular government and vice versa. Can someone who has taken theses classes give me a detailed description of what you do in each class.

I liked both AP Gov and AP Econ. I think they are both really good classes.

there are two classes for each AP Gov and Econ.

There is Microeconomic and Macroeconomics, and there is AP US Government and AP Comparative Government.

Personally i prefer Comparative more, just because it is different and I have taken so many classes about the US. (School requirements)

microecon:
You study market structures, and supply and demand. That is kinda the bulk of the course. we started out just doing basic supply and demand and basic econ principles and then we moved on to market structures. we compared the markets oligopolies, perfect competition, monopolistic competition, and monopolies.

AP US Gov:
pretty much exactly what the title implies. Everything there is to know about US Government. In depth looks at the constitution, bill of rights, federalist papers. Then you study about political parties, campaigning, interest groups, legislative branch, judicial branch, and executive. It is just lots of memorizing facts and laws and rules.

where they differ in my opinion is that in Econ you really have to understand it. It comes really naturally to me. it is kinda like figuring out logic puzzles. So if you want a class where it is more about solving puzzles versus memorization. i would go with AP Econ. It naturally comes to people or it doesn't is kinda what it seems like at my school. like people either are good at econ or they are pretty bad

overall i really like both classes. take both if you can

Oh... I also wanted to add AP Art History. So could you please compare AP Gov't AP Econ and AP Art History. Thanks zfox001.

AP Gov is EXTREMLY interesting. I'm taking it online. Great course.

Anyone know about ART History compared to the other twp?

more input please?

AP Gov is a blast. I almost didn't take it because of the hell that was APUSH, but it's really just so much more interesting.

AP Econ is hit or miss. Some love it, some hate it. It gives a good foundation for understanding how the market works, which is probably become much more important over the past few months.

Art History, I have no idea.

In the end, take what interests you the most.
