Hi everyone... I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this, but I've seen a few others like this on here, so I guess I'll take a whack at it.
Here's the deal... I'm allowed to take 3 APs per year at my high school. I'm choosing senior courses right now. I am interested in selective schools (but not Ivy League)... I'm pretty sure I'm going to take AP Calculus and AP Physics C. Which leaves either AP Computer Science or AP English Lit. Which would be more practical/look better? I'm planning on majoring in engineering (probably biomedical). Is CS necessary for a biomed engineering major? Thanks for your help... :)

I don't think CS is necessary for biomed engineering but taking AP Computer Science would probably be more impressive than AP English Lit for someone going into engineering. Another thing to consider is that you are probably more likely to be able to place out and get credit for comp sci than for english if you do well on the AP exam. Of course, this depends on what school you go to.

Thanks for the help... I looked into several colleges that I'm interested in, and some of them don't accept AP Comp Sci credit. Apparently, AP uses Java, rather than C++. But still, I'd rather take Comp Sci than Lit... not sure what I'm gonna do yet. Does anyone know how hard AP Computer Science is?

take what seems most fun/interesting to you. If the idea of writing lots of essays and reading classic novels and poetry doesn't appeal to you at all, then you will hate English lit.

take AP English, its much easier.... you can get an A there much easily than in CS where it could be difficult for you, but im not sure whats your goods and bads in school... All AP English is writing essays which is fun and disecting the crap out of three line poems, Shakespeare plays, and other stupid books.... as you can see its really not that hard
