Which applicant?

Which applicant do you think a college would most likely accept first?

A) 1st in class, outstanding test scores and grades but no hooks. The applicant did things that would "look good for college" i.e.-lots of community service and summer programs.

B) A very good student- top 10% of class. Good test scores yet not outstanding but with a really impressive hook.

depends on which school..but I'd say student B

A all the way

The impressive hook being?

More specifically, my friend is comparing her chances against a stellar student (A). She is a professional dancer. She is in a dance company in NYC (we live in Connecticut) and has done numerous summer programs and performances. She dances many, many hours a week in New York City. I was just curious how her chances were in comparison to applicant A and how much ECs really help.

Like starry said, it really depends on the school. Some schools value ECs more than others.

If student A doesn't have anything to impress the college, I would say student B.

what dance school-- like geoffrey, or some obscure thing
