Hi everyone,
I’ve heard people on this site using the term “AP Lite”, which I assume means the easy APs. Can we build a list of all the APs that would be considered easy?
Hi everyone,
I’ve heard people on this site using the term “AP Lite”, which I assume means the easy APs. Can we build a list of all the APs that would be considered easy?
AP Environmental science
AP Psychology and AP Human Geography. AP Stats is also sometimes considered an easy-ish AP.
AP Psychology and AP Human Geography
AP AB Calculus is considerably easier than the BC exam.
APES, AP Psych, AP Stats. Basically, what the others above me said.
Just be careful, at my kid’s school, APES is a silent killer. It has the reputation as an “easy AP” then it sneaks up and ends up being a lot of work (= not so easy).
AP Psych and AP Human Geo are two AP’s I’ve taken that I’ve found extremely easy. Be forewarned, however, that if you have a classroom teacher (rather than an online teacher), there’s always the possibility that they could overload you on busywork.
AP Stats/ AP Environmental Science as others have said.
AP Stats at my school has the reputation of being so easy yet so boring, kids bring a pillow to class yet still pull off 100s.
AP US Government, AP Micro, AP Macro
This is all very subjective, but AP Stat and AP Lang.
I don’t think ANY AP course is “easy”.For example, in AP English you must read 14 books…all on your own.
These may differ depending on the school but these are the easy classes at my school.
Just as a reference, I will be a senior this fall, I have taken ap bio, ap world, apush, ap physics1, ap Lang.
If you’re good at math, calc AB and physics 1 will be pretty easy. You will need to get used to the conceptual knowledge for physics but after you master that, physics will be easy. If you like physics, like me, you will really enjoy the class. Calc ab is the same difficulty as precalc from what I hear.
Other easy classes:
Apush- easiest ap I have taken so far. Straight up memorization and understanding the big picture.
Aplang- if you’re a good writer you will be fine. There are a lot of assignments but they’re not hard at all. If you’re moderately good at reading and analyzing texts you’ll be fine.
According to some seniors from last year, gov and Econ are exactly like apush.
Avoid these classes, they’re hard:
Ap bio, ap calc bc, ap Chem, ap music theory.
AP Psych and AP Human Geography are widely considered the “easiest” AP classes. AP Stats can be easy-ish, as can AP US Government or AP Environmental Science; however, the difficulty of these three tends to vary widely between schools.
This definitely varies by school. So many people on CC say that their AP English classes are hard, but here they’re both easy. Generally speaking, psych, enviormental, and human geography are easy. At the end of the day, all APs could vary in difficulty based on the professor.
At my school, AP Psych, AP Gov and AP Human Geography are thought to be the easiest. AP Stat kills at my school, but then again, very few even attempt to take AP Calc (or Pre Calc) so that shows you something about the students. Strangely enough, APUSH is also said to be pretty easy/enjoyable at my school.
AP Lang is hard if you have a real english teacher. I can’t speak about the difficulty for the history courses as history is my strongest subject. AP Physics 1 had an easy exam in its first year of existence. APES and Psych are easy. Stats is the easiest math AP (of course it is because of calculus being the other choices)
@TheSlacker16 I disagree that AP Statistics is easy. Just because people pull off easy grade doesn’t mean they will do well on the exam(lot of people want college credits). Even though I am a math/science person, I found AP stats kind of hard for two reasons: 1. You need to actually know when and how to apply the test statistics. Sometimes the situation is vague and can mislead you into using a different but similar test. 2. You actually have to understand some of the reasoning beneath some of the concepts in order to fully apply them instead of just blindly take out the variable and replace it with a different variable.
Human Geography, Environmental Science, and US Government, and Psychology are the only ones that I would say are easy even if you don’t have a great teacher. I thought AP Micro, Macro, and Stats were easy, but I had outstanding teachers, so they probably would have been harder with an average teacher. Physics 1 can be difficult if you have no prior physics classes, and both English tests are basically the same. If you are a good writer, and good at that type of MC, you will do well, but I wouldn’t say they are easy. Those are the only ones I took
I agree with a lot of what people are saying from what I have heard, but I was really surprised to hear that the english classes were easy for some. In my school, Lang is known for its difficulty…but our teacher pushes us.
