I'm thinking about self-study AP stats. I'm not sure if I should or not. Any advice/tips for AP stats is welcome

Also, when are you starting to study?

Also, when are you starting to study?

I wanted to self study AP Stats but next year one of the best math teachers in the world is teaching that class, so I am going to wait until then. However, I am self-studying government and economics. I have been keeping up with the work all year so I really don't anticipate a large amount of time needed to study.

Does anyone think i'd be able to self-study AP Physics using books I pick up at the bookstore WITHOUT any introductory courses in high school? I never took one in high school and am hoping to jump into astronomy as an undergrad... I would love some physics experience before that. Should I just take an into course at the nearest state school over the summer?

I'm currently self-studying AP Bio.

Ongoing for three years: Chinese (will take at end of senior year)
Next year: Micro-economics
To ecohen21: You could self study AP Physics as long as you know calculus to the BC level.

I'm selfstudying AP english language and calculus AB.

eng lang is stressing me out.. I still cant write 1 essay in 40min.. Like, it takes me 1 hr.. (without proof reading!)

My son self-studied AP English Language & got a 5, tho he only got a 6 on the SAT essay (go figure). The AP physics instructor at son's HS (who's on the committee that formulate the curriculum for this exam) says that nationwide only about 20% of folks who take AP Physics B get a 5 (or was it a 4 or 5). I think this makes it a pretty tough exam. Of course, of his students about 80-90% get 4s or 5s, sometimes more. They really learn the subject WELL! They cover the entire textbook during the year & do 60 lab experiments as well (it's a double-period class). Now sure how you'd learn the nearly same amount via self-study.
You should look at the AP subject books at the library & bookstore & see what you think of the curriculum if you really want to try taking the exam instead of a course in physics (if your college will accept the score in lieu of the class).

skylarsky: self study ap stats shouldn't be too hard. as long as you apply yourself seriously to it, you should do fine.

I'm doing AP Art History self-study.

Physics C mechanics, and if I'm super ambitious, maybe E&M.
