I was planning on taking an online math course but that fell through when my school refused to pay for it, so now I have one more period to fill for my senior year. So far I have Chem (not AP, school doesn't offer it), Art IV, and an online AP course (Gov. first sem, Macro second sem.), I also have Trig, English Comp, and Western Civ first semester from a CC in my area. My school is able to get online AP courses for free so I'm thinking I should take another one of those. The problem is, this online program doesn't offer ALL AP's, (I wanted to take Calc BC, but they don't offer it). The courses that I had in mind that are offered are Physchology, Micro, Statistics and Physics B. Has anyone ever taken these online or self-studied them? If so, were any of them too difficult to understand without a teacher? Also, I have taken a regular Physics class already but I really liked it and I would be interested in taking more. However, would that be too repetitive? The class I took was not easy, but it was not AP level either. And finally, if anyone has any other suggestions of classes they took online, I would definitely welcome them as I don't have the course list in front of me and I may be leaving out some potential options. Thanks in advance!

none. the college board is evil.

Kristin, what program did you take this course from?

Stat can be self-studied without taking a class online but if you want an easy class take that. Your in between physics class could have been geared to Physics B(not Physics C) and so you could possibly refresh your memory and take Physics B without taking the class. I personally don't think you should take a science class online(a lack of a teacher + lab experience makes it not worth it). Take Pysch. It's a good class to get credit for because it is not a building block in your college classes and a good senior class.

Wow your school doesn't go up to Calc BC? Our school requires Calc BC for graduation(Thomas Jefferson HS for sci. and tech). Our highest math class is differential equations which is after multivar/lin algebra

Thats why you are in Thomas Jefferson......cal required for graduation! wow...........

Zachsta-the courses are from Apex learning, but we get them for free through the Iowa AP Academy. There may be similar programs in other states, though I doubt there are very many since the academy is geared toward small/rural high schools that financially cannot offer very many AP's
confidential-thanks for the input, I was thinking about both Stats and Pysch, but I hadn't decided since those are also offered for free at the CC in my area. BTW, I was lucky to have a school that offered Calc AB, I think we're the only school in our conference to offer ANY AP's...gotta love Iowa! I was planning to take Calc BC and Multivariable calculus online, but it turned out I was going to have to pay like $1000 dollars and so it just wasn't worth it.

another TJer. cool

the minimum math-level entry for freshman year is geometry... so, yeah, geometry, alg2 trig, precalc, and calc...

some enter freshman year with calc bc or linear algebra.. lol

If you're currently taking Algebra II (trig/precalc next year), and you're a freshman, would anyone recommend taking AP Stats indepenently with one of these programs--either sophomore or junior year?
