which apush history text do you have?

Um, the title basically says it. Does anyone have American Hisory: A Survey by Brinkley, thats mine.

Same, American History: A Survey by Alan Brinkley.

The Enduring Vision by Paul Boyer (5th Ed.).

At the beginning of the year, we used The American Pageant (13th Ed.).

War Chant...How long do you usually get to read a chapter?

A week or so, sometimes less, sometimes more.

We used that book last year. I thought most classes used American Pageant.

I liked Brinkley's book a lot because it was easy to read. We usually had two days to read and outline each chapter (she'd assign half a chapter a night), but the outlines weren't anything extensive.

American Pageant.

i have two. one is US History by John Newman and the other is Give Me Liberty by Eric Foner. and we dont read by chapters, my teacher outlined the whole course for us at the beginning of the year and we read an average of 20 pages every night with discussion on the topic the next day

We use "Out of Many."

I thought most schools used American Pageant for APUSH..

that book is totally brilliant. haha

Tindall and Shi :'(

The Enduring Vision > The American Pageant with its immaturity and lack of college level text.

Tindall and Shi...I hate this textbook. Used Palmer last year for AP Euro...now that was amazing.

I'm currently using Palmer for AP Euro. Well, that's not exactly right. It's technically our textbook, but it's tedious to go through, so our teacher made us get another textbook that's much easier to read. I haven't touched the Palmer textbook since the beginning of the year.

I personally like the immaturity of The American Pageant - the random metaphors make things more interesting when you read about boring dead guys.

hahah i loved the metaphors!

and how they gave the exact physical dimensions of every significant U.S. political figure.

American History:A Survey

Tindall and Shi doesn't even seem like a textbook..but it still sucks.

Created Equal: AP Edition by like 5 authors. As well as two complimentary texts, The American Political Tradition by Richard Hofstader and Out of Our Past by Richard Degler.

Oh Yeah I have The American Political Tradition, as well. And Brinkley.
