I am a long shot and not very impressive, but one can dream right? I originally had my heart set on only applying and going to Cal and UCLA, but after learning more about Stanford, I'm in love... :)

you'll have a better shot at Stanford if you get those SAT's up. But for Cal and UCLA, you have a great shot as it is.

Thanks Steveo68. I'd chance you back, but I'm not too familiar with Stanford's admissions so my insights would most likely be unfounded. I can say that your SAT's are great though; wish I could get that.

I'm taken aback however, as the "typical" student that I've seen accepted in at Stanford are really, really impressive. The two that I personally know of were valedictorian of their respective classes and both got a 2380 (what a coinki-dink), although one turned Stanford down for Yale.

sigh admissions time is nearly approaching, yet it seems so far away because of the anticipation and anxiety...

are you guys/girls doing SCEA or Regular???

and by the way, what are your majors???

what are your future career plans???

- Environmental Club

and some other things I can't remember right now

I know I have a very low chance, but I wonder if they'll take into consideration the fact that my rank is low for a reason. I moved to the U.S. junior year, from Brunei (where my school followed the British curriculum) so I had no AP classes there, and when I came, I could only enroll in Physics, as everything else was full.

And my ECs are two years at the most, because in Brunei there wasn't anything I could continue here.

I am thinking of sending in this toy project I made (to teach both the local language and English to children), which was commended by the chief examiner (when he came from England) and was displayed at the top hotel in Brunei.

I realize that my chances are still really low, but would it help if I wrote about my experiences living in 5 different countries, especially as I believe writing to be one of my strengths?

Could people chance me please? -by the way, I realize that on paper I look sort of like a nerd but am quite good at the humanities and have a passion for history/law/politics so hopefully will reflect that in my essays.

Good luck to everyone!
