Which award/honor should I cut from the Common App

I have 6 but there are only 5 spots:

AP Scholar with Honor
USA Computing Olympiad Semifinalist - Gold Division Qualifier
National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
High School Student of the Quarter
NHS
League of Women’s Voters Award

Sorry if this is a pretentious question but I really need help

AP Scholar with Honor

They can see your AP scores already.

if NHS stands for national honors society, it probably fits more under you EC, since it is a club based activity…Unless you won something within it?

None of the last three are startling. Your transcript & GPA tells them you’re already a scholar. These extra awards don’t add much to your overall impression, to be frank.

Agree with @Thisislife2019‌ , NHS is an EC, as it’s really not difficult to get into. This may depend on your school, but “student of the quarter” sounds like a cheap award if that makes sense…though it may be prestigious…depends on your school like I said. I’d leave AP scholar on there but don’t expect it to have a significant if any impact.

Ask for your guidance counselor’s opinion. Personally, I’d take out HS student of the quarter…

NHS is not an award and easily fits under ECs.

+1 on High School Student of the Quarter.

NHS depends on your school and how it’s treated. At my school, you get inducted and that’s the end of that. At my friend’s school, you’re inducted and then there’s a large and frequent community service component. So, I would list it as an honour, and she would list it as an EC. Either way it doesn’t count for much.

I’d say cut either HS Student of the Quarter, NHS (depending on if it’s an EC or an award at your school), or AP Scholar with Honor. I’d be tempted to cut both AP scholar and HS Student award, but maybe that’s just me.

What’s the League of Women Voters award?
