which awards should I include on the common app?

<p>I don't really have a lot of impressive awards... my EC's definately outshine my awards, but I'm confused as to what awards I should list because there's only five spaces. I know I can put more in the additional information section, but out of these, what are the most impressive/unique? </p>

<p>AP Scholar (2 out of 3 of the tests were self-studied)
National Honor Society
Principal's Honor Roll (11th)
High Honor Roll (9th,10th)
Poetry Slam 2nd Place Award (10th)
Poetry Slam Honorable Mention (10th, 11th)
Varsity Letter (tennis)
Academic Jacket Award (for maintaining above a 3.7)
Ambassador for Change Award (I'm not sure if this is really an award. I got it after completely a week long diversity camp type thing... I guess it could be considered an honor though)</p>

<p>I know they're all pretty boring/common awards, but out of all of those which 5 should I definately list?</p>

<p>i guess...u dont need to keep anything on about grades or AP tests since they'll see those anyways</p>

<p>The Honors category is only for academics, your varsity letter belongs under ECs.</p>

<p>oh, okay. thanks for the responses.. i think i'll definately put the poetry slam awards because they're at least slightly unique.</p>

Honor Roll (9-11) (you don't need to mention the distinction between High and Principal)
Poetry Slam (10-11) - 2d place 10, Honorable Mention 11 (Put them together on one line)</p>

<p>Combine as many as you can.</p>

<p>entomom–is it a fact that the major awards are academic? i know it says “list your major academic awards or honors” and i thought just maybe the ‘academic’ wasn’t attached to ‘honors.’</p>

<p>I earned a full scholarship to travel to Europe and Israel for four weeks. would i be able to put that under “academic awards?”</p>

<p>I have a published poem (Creative Communication) - can I include that under common app honors?</p>
