Which CA colleges to apply to?

Electrical Engineering major

3.81 or so weighted GPA
1270 SAT
good clubs (MUN Officer, own club)
no sports besides marching band for 2 years (semesters)
only took physics CP, not AP

Which would be safety schools? Which would be reach schools?

Here is my current list:
Average chance: UCR, San Jose State Univ., UCSC??

Reach: UCI,

UCD? UCSD? UCSB?

UC/CSU GPA calculation: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Post capped weighted UC GPA

Unweighted GPA: 3.51
Weighted GPA: 3.84
Weighted and Capped GPA: 3.73

What is your local CSU? If is not impacted, most likely it would be your safety school.

Admit rates below are not major specific so Engineering majors would likely be likely be lower.

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79 (capped weighted):

UCB: 2%
UCLA: 3%
UCSD: 6%
UCD: 15%- Reach
UCSB: 14%- Reach
UCI: 13%- Reach
UCSC: 59%- High Match
UCR: 78%- Match
UCM: 92%- Safety

How Cal States admit:

The Cal states admit by major and eligibility index. They really only consider GPA/Test scores/Geographic location and HS course rigor. Other than Cal Poly SLO, your EC’s are not considered.

Calculate your Eligibility index:
If you took the Redesigned SAT:
(CSU capped weighted GPA X 800) + (SAT Evidence Based Reading & Writing (EBRW) + Math Score) = Eligibility Index
**CSULB and SJSU use a modified EI for STEM/Engineering majors:
http://www.sjsu.edu/admissions/impaction/impactionresultsfreshmen/index.html

You will then be ranked based on EI and major and they accept from the top down until all spots are filled.
Impacted campuses/majors: https://www.calstate.edu/sas/documents/ImpactedProgramsMatrix.pdf
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I get an EI of 4254. That should get you into all the CSU’s with the exception of Cal Poly SLO and possibly SDSU.
