Which California college to pick?

1) Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
2) Cal Poly Pomona
3) Cal State Chico
4) Cal State Fresno
5) UC Davis

I am currently going to a community college, so I will be considered a transfer student. My current GPA is 3.69, but I’m working to get it higher. I want to major in animal science. I’m not sure what I want to do as a career yet, maybe either training or breeding animals. I’m thinking about being an “applied animal behaviorist”. I do not want to be a vet. I am primarily interested in horses and dogs.

Which school do you think is best with ALL factors considered? (location, academic, nice area, weather- I’m not a big fan of snow or the cold, social life, hands-on experience, animal facilities on campus, and anything else). What would you choose??

Thanks!

For your major probably

UC Davis
Cal Poly SLO
Cal Poly Pomona
CSU Fresno
CSU Chico.

If you are interested in equine research, check out the Kellogg horse center at Cal Poly Pomona:
