Which is the best campus dorm to stay in? South, North or the Towers?
I heard most of the parties are in the south…
anyone know about the room sizes, distance to academic blocks and sports facilties, etc.

Ill be attending University of Miami instead of OSU, but i know a ton about OSU dorms as i did research after i got in. I was close to goin to OSU. I would pick south.
South has the whole historic look in the buildings. Mack Hall looks pretty kool. also its not only where most of the social scene is but its closer to the RPAC and right on the oval. North is ok but the buildings arent all that nice however rooms are more spacious and air conditioned. Towers suck. lol they look so plain and boring.

Actually, the towers are the closest dorms to the RPAC.

Yea they are. but its relative. south is pretty close as well. North is really ugly though. they have no taste. the south dorms have a amazing architecture and are the most centrally located dorms.

thanks guys. Do they have a hall specifically tailored for transfer students.... being a transfer student, i'm hoping meeting people will be an easy process.

Can't say about housing favored by transfers. Most upperclassmen live off campus, but the dorms are mostly mixed years.

As far as meeting people, you shouldn't have any trouble. The place is huge. Take advantage of the many activities and organizations and meeting people will be easy.

Good luck!

personally, I liked the towers the best and I didn't find them boring at all! I'm doing honors housing at Lincoln and I thought the 8 person rooms were awesome.

Does anyone have any specific halls to recommend since i'm going to be applying for housing soon. I'm thinking either towers or south campus.
Any specific halls that's pretty good?

Honestly, i'm not that big on what the buildings look like. Its the rooms itself and the location i'm more concerned about.
Any advice?

If you stay in Bradley, Patterson, and Siebert complex, they are all connected underground to the South Campus Commons (FOOD). Also, there's a bike-rack in the basement too. This is helpful on rainy days or Sunday mornings when you wanna wear slippers to get that omlette.

Are any of the dorms more than 2 or 3 people? Do they have any apartment-style dorms (shared living space, with dorms)?

? I've never heard of these.

I recommend going to http://housing.osu.edu

well they aren't 8 in one...they are 4 rooms of 2 that share bathrooms and a common room

Oh, cool. Are all of the dorms in Lincoln part of the 8-person arrangement? That's pretty neat; it's the traditional double, but sort of a suite-type-thing.

Wow cool. anywhere else with 8 or 4 person rooms??

Anyway, when's the housing stuff supposed to be sent? After the acceptance fees has been paid?

Yes, housing information comes out only after acceptance fees are paid.

The towers are nice but they are very far from your classes (except for the bio sci building and pharmacy building). The north campus is mostly for upper class men and all the dorms on north campus have AIR CONDITION. Only a few dorms on the south campus have air condition.

Siebert and Bradley (both honors dorms) don't have air conditioning.

Actually only one dorm on South Campus has air conditioning (Morrison Tower). However, plans are in place to have all of the south campus dorms air conditioned in the next couple years.

Yeah I think that I'm going to go for the honors Bradley dorm.

Bradley is a decent dorm...it's right by the commons (food place) and Mirror Lake (another food place). And within walking distance to Marketplace and Buckeye Express (more food places that accept meal swipes)..

Anyways...where did you hear that they are installing air conditioning to the south dorms?!?!?! Last I heard they were going to spend $$$ upgrading the elevators here.

Also remember Worthington has air condition but you won't get in there your first year...it's an upper class honors dorm.

nevermind, i'm in taylor because I got accepted to the Business Honors Learning Community. So bradley is no more.
