I just want to know which campus is better in terms of on and off campus living, getting round to various classes, social life, etc.

Preferably I would like to be in the Fordham College of Liberal Studies

Please let me know your options or personal experiences with either

Thanks in advance

I applied to Fordham under the Lincoln Center campus… then I visited and switched to Rose Hill.

The Lincoln Center campus is definitely more urban. Rose Hill is more like a traditional campus. The one problem I found with Lincoln Center is that it’s basically a block long, whereas Rose Hill is much bigger. LC has one dorm, and I know classes are held in the same building. RH has many dorms, and they’re building three new ones that’ll be open by 2010. The one advantage LC has is that it’s right in Manhattan, versus the middle of the Bronx. If you plan on going off campus and going around the city multiple times a week, LC might be better.

With regards to academics, the two campuses differ quite a bit. It really depends on your major. Theatre and art majors are better off at LC, business is better at RH. It’s split pretty evenly with regards to humanities and social sciences, I believe. (Although I do know that languages like Japanese and Russian are only offered at LC.)

You can take classes as either campus, no matter which one you’re at. I plan on trying to take Japanese even though I’m at RH. Also, if you’re pretty smart (like, Ivy League smart,) you might want to look at the Honors Programs at each campus. I switched campuses mostly because of the Honors Program at RH. (Just ask me if you want to know more about this.)

Hope this helped!

I visited the Rose Hill campus and if you want a traditional college feel with a campus and all def go there the campus is gorgeous. I know someone who wanted to be right inside of nyc and went to Lincoln center and loved it. So its really up to what you are looking for.

ps the area outside of the rose hill campus was really sketchy

You really need to visit both and see which is a fit for you. RH is a beautiful campus if you want a traditional campus feel, LC is right in Manhattan if you like being right in the city and having a traditional campus is not important to you. LC is much smaller, thus more intimate, if you prefer a smaller college experience, RH is more spread out and that could be good or bad depending on what you are looking for. Visit both and you’ll know which is right for you.

sunshowers23,
What are the requirements to get into the Honors Program?
And if you get in, is there some sort of merit aid that you may get?

And would you say Fordham has a good science department?

lore3027, as far as I know, there are no specific requirements to get into the honors program (that they will tell us). It’s not something you can apply for. It’s something that the school will inform you that you have been chosen for. Whatever merit aid you were already offered will stay the same, no special aid for honors program students.
