which one receives higher pay? which one is more exciting and fun?

Med > Business, hands down.

But I'm biased.

Are you Masterus?

Business is a pretty broad subject.

This thread topic is way too loosely based. It all depends on personal opinion, medical specialty, regional differences . . . aka there are so many factors to pin down first.

Better in what regards? Toughness? Money? Jobs?

Hmm, I generally don't think it's a good idea to choose career just for 'payment'. And other than that, you can't choose career by 'interest' because, well, it's a subjective matter.

Do whichever will be more enjoyable.

Business(especially banking/finance jobs)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Med. No contest.

Job security in medicine is very, very good.

What's better is the one you're more interested in.

Doesn't matter which pays higher, if you'r egonna be happy in one and bored to tears in the other.

What ever you are more interested in. Definitely don't go into any career just for the money. You have to have some kind passion for what you are doing if you choose to go med or business.

It depends. It's hard to compare medicine and business. Business is risky, but the opportunties for a ton of money are abundant in that field. In my opinion, business requires less work and thought. You also don't have to study as much for your MBA than a doctor would have to study for his/her MD. Of course, being a doctor puts a smile on your face, especially when you save that terminally ill elderly patient. Being a doctor can bring in lots of money, escpecially if you specialize in some field or do surgery. Heart surgeons, brain surgeons and spinal surgeons get the most. I think the easiest and best paying job in the medical field is an anesthetiologist. They get about 300 grand for putting a patiend asleep and reading a newspaper. However, doctors have to be strong willed courageous people who have to face many challenges. Their job is stressful and time consuming. Business is, in my opinion, a completely hit or miss career. You can go from being a millionaire to a pauper easily. A doctor is always needed and you can guarantee a hefty paycheck.

I agree buisness is a completely hit or miss career. Doctors you have to be determined and well devoted. In the end you can make a lot of money doing anything. It just depends on how good you are or innovative.

I think it's rather stupid to base your career choice off the salary...you'll end up miserable.

I've heard that Dentistry is becoming a fairly lucrative field, not to mention stable with the oncoming retirement of many practitioners from the baby boom gen. The hours are also great- my dentist works only four days a week. Also if your passion lies in business too, a dentist's office involves as much of that as in any other small business. The one downside is the competition for dental schools in the U.S./Canada.
