Which CCers applied for the Wilson Research Fellowship?

Hey guys,

Who this year has applied for the '12 Woodrow Wilson Research Fellow Program grant?

What were your essays like?

Mine was basically like:

Cheese introduction.
Sophomore Research (neurobiology)
Junior Research (biochemistry)
This years project (information theory)
Description of cool project that builds on Sophomore year and a bit of Senior year.
Conclusion: Pick Me

Fun stuff.

i didn't, but good luck =]

Thanks

It seemed like a waste not to apply for such a great opportunity.

i plan to. there doesn't seem to be a set deadline on it, is there? or, did it have to go in along with my application?

Searching got 2 different answers: one (from AdDan) was that the deadline is the RD deadline: Jan 1.

The other was that it's part of your application, and as such must be in with that deadline.

I don't know, but I'm leaning towards the first, because it came from the man.

Are you going to use the online application, or mail it in? I used the online deal, but I'm kinda regretting that, since using a printed copy would allow me to use italics, etc.

Whatever.

The Wilson Fellowship deadline is January 1st for all applicants, including Early Decision applicants. We strongly urge students to complete the fellowship application through our online system.

Decision about Wilson are released when RD decisions are released.

Thanks for clearing that up!

definitely online. my handwriting is near illegible.

I know someone who applied ED to JHU last year and got denied the scholarship. She was an Intel Finalist and had been researching for 4 years. So yeah...

Wait, Intel finalist as in she went to Intel ISEF and got rejected? Or did are you talking about the STS thing?

That's intense... Way to crash our party :-P
