Which class schedule will help me get into my finance major?

my school only looks at my transcript. The Finance class I’ve taken, retakes, gpa, quantitative classes , etc are their main concern.

I’m trying to come up with a schedule that will increase my odds into gettinf into this major. I currently have a 3.1 gpa. But I’ve taken numerous accounting classes a bunch of times, and one intro to finance class 3 times ( ending with a B+)

A:
Honors operation management
Financial accounting
Business stat (finance requirement)
International finance (finance requirement)
Business law

B:
Intro to investment (finance requirement)
Final accounting
Business stat (finance requirements)
international finance (finance requirement)
Business law

Assuming I can get straight a’s in either schedule which one would make me a better candidate to be selected?

(Also: I understand this is going to be subjective, but I can’t ask my advisors before the class registration deadline since they’re all booked)

Schedule A.
But having to retake classes will be counted against you so plan for a second major.
In addition, many colleges want a higher GPA than 3.1 for finance (some colleges want a 3.5, which is impossible for you to reach), and getting straight As is unlikely based on your record so far.
How many college math classes have you taken?

@MYOS1634 2. Business calc and statistics. Got a B+ in calc (second try) and a B in stats as well.

So what’s your reasoning for schedule A?

@MYOS1634 also, it looks like my school is requiring a 3.4-3.5 gpa. So it’s pretty “competitive”. Are my chances pretty low? Thoughts? Advice?

It’s impossible to go from 3.1 to 3.4/3.5 in one semester, especially since you had to retake classes several times. So, what are your other possibilities?

@MYOS1634 so…best case scenario: I get a 4.0 this semester and I can get my gpa up to a 3.4 and apply (since business law and financial accounting will be a class retake) so it really comes down to whether or not they’d prefer that I take an honors course or do well in a finance upper division class.

Or I can

Change majors. Take another semester to improve grades + other business course and touch base with another business major

Change my major completely. Drop out of college and do something else

Doing well in an honors class would help, but if you’ve had to retake classes odds are that you will not suddenly get a 4.0. It’s already really hard to get a 3.8. So, being optimistic you’d get 3.8, being realistic probably 3.3 - and that doesn’t add up to the 3.4-3.5 needed for finance. Also, the fact you had to retake several classes will be a negative.
What classes did you struggle in?
My advice is to look for another business major and complete the pre-reqs for that. In addition, it gives you more time to increase that GPA.
Does your college offer Supply Chain Management? That track has a lot of good jobs. I’m sure many business pre-reqs would work so you would have minimal new “entrance to major” to take.

Do you know why you need to retake so many classes? What will you do differently to do better this time? Do they show up on the transcript that they see when applying for the major? Have you had to repeat any accounting classes? While honors sounds good I would hesitate since you seem to struggle some based on having to repeat classes.
