** Sorry if I am posting in the wrong forum, I am fairly new to cc.
I was wondering if I should take AP environmental science or Academic Physics for junior year. Ap Physics is really hard and I am not sure I can handle it yet.
Anyways which class looks better for college? I already took Academic Biology and Chemistry. I could Also take AP Bio or Chem too. Which science class is best for me?
Talk with your current science and math teachers. Can they see you make a B or more in AP Physics (1 or 2, I assume)? Since you already took Biology and Chemistry, your choices would be to pick Physics if you intend to apply to a Top 25 university/LAC, OR if you intend to major in engineering (or STEM), then one of these 3 as an AP class senior year. If you don’t intend on going into STEM or applying to a super selective school, you can choose Academic Physics OR AP Chem OR AP Bio or APES. Note, however, that APES is considered a “light” AP and is more likely to be good if you intend to major in non-science fields (ie., you want science for general knowledge, not for specialist/professional knowledge), or if your science and math teachers recommend you take it because they think you won’t be able to handle the other science classes. Remember, no one’s impressed with a C in an AP class- better take another class. If you can reasonably expect a B or more in an AP class, it’s usually a good idea, depending on college selectivity and hoped-for major.
