im gonna major in stats or CS in college. Should i take AP stats or multivariables next year (and no our school doesnt allow to take two maths at the same time) To help me get me into top colleges? Sure multivariables is more challenging but my interest is more toward stats. Which would help my admission to college more doe?
AP Stats is a very common course and fulfills a basic math requirement in most school. Anyone can take college stats, provided they pass College Algebra (and most non-STEM B.S. students take it). By comparison, Multivariate Calc is considered an advanced math course for a freshman. This will better demonstrate that you can handle upper level mathematics, which is required for a Statistics degree.
AP Stats, according to my counselor is more of a class for those who have got a C in Precalc. I’d recommend Multivar Calc, which is harder. If your schedule is already difficult, then take AP Stats. But if you have room for a harder class, take the Calc.
