I am currently a senior. I have taken German for four years, and this year I initially planned on taking AP. However, I found out about a law course offered at the local university. Since law is my main focus (I have some ECs in law...but never an official class), I genuinely would love to take it. However, will my dropping German hurt my chances for admissions at ultra-competitive colleges? I appreciate anyone's insights. Thanks!

If you’ve dine it for four years, it should be fine. Maybe take the AP test to show your proficiency though.

Sorry, I meant that I took German for 3 years, not 4. If I take it this year, it would be 4. However, I really don’t enjoy it that much (sorry to the language enthusiasts out there) and I don’t plan on taking the AP exam (would be lucky to get a 4 haha).

Any insights on whether dropping German is okay if I decide to take the college law class? Thanks!

It’s definitely nice to have 4 years of a foreign language, but a college class for what you want to major in is also nice.

So close your eyes and do eeny meeny miny moe (I’ve never spelt that out before, so wrong xD)

Haha thanks
Before I resort to doing eeny meeny miny moe (can’t spell that either xD), anyone else like to share their two-cents?
