Which class will be more helpful on my application

I live near Pittsburgh and the fall semester of this year (junior year) I took calc III at Carnegie. I want to take another class over the summer. The next class in the math track is diff eq. Unfortunately they only offer diff eq during the first summer session which starts the 22nd and I’ll still be in school for a couple weeks. I want to be a comp sci major and my top choice/reach school right now is MIT. The way I see it I have two options: I can take a different class at Carnegie (i’m thinking principles of imperative computation) or I could take diff eq at Pitt which is available over a period that fits my schedule. Which would be more helpful to my college applications? There are other factors to my decision but I really want more perspectives on this part.

Thanks!

It will truly make no difference.

Both would be seen equally.

Also as an aside in case you didn’t know for MIT you don’t need to send official transcripts from the colleges when you list those on your application. So that will save you a few bucks.

Thanks guys

Taking all advanced maths available is emphasized at my daughter’s school, even if the student wants to study comp sci. So, junior year is multi variable calculus and senior is number theory. Obviously, most students are not at that level, however.

Why not save some money and take the course at CCAC?
