Which classes do you plan to take this fall?

@rameezkhan: I took Friday at 9am or something. XP

Chem 6C
Phys 1B
Phys 1BL
JAPN10A
and waitlisted for Chem 6BL…third on waitlist.

^ Do you have to take a placement test before you can enroll in JAPN10A?

@blackberry: I think you only need to take the placement exam if you speak the language at home, or if you’ve had formal prior instruction in the language.

MATH 10A
LTSP 2A
BILD 7
BIMM 171A
ETHN 1A

I’m waitlisted for ETHN 1A, but I just signed up for it to consider dropping it later lol. Has anyone taken this class?

you don’t have to take placement exam for JAPN10A, only for upper classes. (:

it’s unlike chinese series, where I took the placement exam and just went in and told them i knew nothing and they placed me into 10AN ):

not that anyone cares, but …

microbiology & infectious diseases

beginning chinese (have enrolled three times previously, had to drop each time)

biochemistry (TAing)

^we care! or at least I do

You were like MIA from these boards for awhile…

haha, thanks.

my life for most of the summer was consumed by preparing for my PhD candidacy qualifying exam, which is the only point during grad school that you can be kicked out. so it’s important to put on a good show. and then i ran off to europe for a week, so now it’s back to work – work, classes, CC, tormenting my students, the usual.

Math 10B
Chem 6
Warren Writing
Poly Sci 10
Frosh Sem Science Teaching

astrina: assume when you say you are back, you mean NYC and not San Diego.

Great to have your presence on these boards, as always.

math 10c
ltko 2a
muir 40
hild 2a

weeee~. i got the classes i want except for a freshmen seminar but oh well. no loss.

4 classes
MATH 20B
CHEM 6A
MMW 1
MUS 13AS

2 freshman seminars
PHIL 87
PHYS 87

Hopefully I’ll see one of you guys! :)

Math 20C
Phys 2B
CAT 1
ECE 15

ECE 87 seminar

I don’t know whether to take 14 or 16 units.

This class I wanted opened up, but if I take it I can’t take this 2 unit seminar required for my major. I don’t think I can take 18 units fall quarter so that’s not an option. The seminar is offered winter quarter so I can take it later, but since most freshman take it fall it’ll be easier to meet people in the major. But Econ will let me clear a GE and the information is fresh since I just took the AP tests this year. Still, if I take 16 units, I probably will have to take 18 units next quarter so I stay on schedule. So hard to decide. Econ 2 or CSE 91?! Help me decide!

The answer depends on the composition of your other classes. No wrong answers. You have to do eventually both. If you want a relaxed start – warmup – take Econ. CSE 91 will certainly be more demanding. So…
