@slicmlic2001

Terri was a great professor for a seminar. Given her background, she was very easy to talk to, and even disagree with in discussion.

The class itself was hard. For some meetings the required reading would be as much as 300 pages, while at the same time being expected to produce a 20-30 page paper. Her grading was fair, but, again, hard. I mean, I am not sure what a “fair” grader exactly means, but there was never a question as to why I had received the grade I did.

The final paper does require a lot of work, and she really does prefer that you include some sort of quantification of data unique to your own research (done by you). She makes clear when she grades that the class is not course in history, but political science. It seemed that she wanted us to do justice to the science of political science, which so many polisci majors have seemingly forgot.

If you’re asking for her lecture, PoliSci 103, on the American presidency she is teaching this spring, she told me not to take it as “going from PoliSci 191-1 to PoliSci 103 would be like going from grade school back to preschool.” That, I believe, may shed some light on the difficulty of that course.

Sorry to spoil the fun, but is posting a list of all the classes that have posted grades really necessary? There are hundreds of classes at Berkeley, and all grades will eventually be out by January 15th on everyone’s transcript.

I was actually thinking exactly the same thing. Once they’re out, I would assume those who would be using this list would already know.

Yeah, its not really necessary. I check everyday anyway, so this least really doesn’t help me much. But, I’ll continue to contribute…GWS50AC (Barnes) is up!

MCB 130, 142 are also up

NES 18 (Redmount) is up and Psych 2 with Mendoza is up as well.

Same. Starting to get frustrating. The raw grades have been up for nearly two weeks. Calculating a curve can’t be THAT hard.
